Substation Design / Protection Control Engineer

- The company understands the value of their employees; therefore, this position will start with a competitive base salary of $75,000+ and a potential 10% bonus, in addition to an astounding benefits package.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
- In this position you will be responsible for building and maintaining your own substations.
- Coordinate work with design and project management personnel on substation design, modification, and construction.
- Ensure that design and safety of substation coordinate with the company, national and regional standards.
- Work with other department to forecast budgets.
- Design and specify protection system design and coordinate settings for new substations.
- Coordinate transmission protection systems.
- Analyze system disturbances.
- Provide project management services for complex substation and transmission projects, including scheduling, logistical support and cost tracking.
- Ensure a safe working environment.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- Two plus years of experience in substation and protection system design.
- Experience in commercial power system design/analysis programs.
- Knowledge of project management and project management software a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power system related studies preferred.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Kansas or able to obtain registration.
