Process Engineer

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: 

• Provide process engineering, troubleshooting, process control, and related support to the molding operation to ensure the efficient and quality product.
• Serve as a team member for new product development, process improvement, cost saving, new equipment acquisition, and employee training.
• Report all concerns and tooling issues, and make recommendations.
• Employ problem solving techniques, such as 8D and other analysis techniques.
•  Utilize continuous improvement and Lean methods in numerous areas.
• General understanding of ERP system, data base, and bill-of manufacture to ensure proper information is available to all employees.
• Assist in the application and formulation of the design of experiments, capability studies, and process control plans and process failure mode effect analysis.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

The ideal candidate would have:

• 4 year degree strongly preferred or high school diploma with 5+ years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to interpret GD&T, part geometry, and make design change recommendations.
• Experience in various grades of engineering resins in sampling and debugging of new tools.
• Experience in design of experiments to layout and perform DOE’s with follow up cability studies and assist with methods of measurement.
• Ability to determine best method of gating, cooling requirement, estimated cycle time, needed secondary operations, packaging needs, etc.
